ABOUT US
We are the 8th grade class of St. James School in Mukwonago Wisconsin. We are competing in the Lexus Final Eco Challenge. Our goal is to improve recycling world wide. First we made presentations to our school and village board to improve the recycling efforts in the village of Mukwonago. We persuaded the Mukwonago Village board to put recycling containers in the high school football stadium and in the village parks. We are making this blog to inform people around the world about the importance of recycling. We hope to inspire you to recycle more in your life to help take care of the Earth. Before you throw something in the garbage consider if it could be reused or recycled.
I seperate my recyclable item carefully and live in the Village of Mukwonago. I put my cans, bottles and paper in the correct bin provided by the company. How certain can I be that they are being handled correctly?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the information about what to do with clothes, appliances, and old electral items. This was new information for our family.
I wanted to mention that in these economic times, people may want to avail themselves of consignment stores. In these stores, your clothes or household items are resold and you receive a portion of that money.
Also to recycle old cars, you can donate your car to Rawhide( look locations up on the web) which is run by Bart Star. These cars are recycled and you received a great tax credit.
Thank you for all you are doing. Please, keep me informed on anything I can do to help your efforts in the future. YOU make a difference to our world by informing us.
In our visit to John's recycling, the company that picks our recyling and garbage in the town and village of Mukwonago, we were assured that all items picked up by the recycling trucks were sorted and recycled. We found John's to be a very helpful resource.
